Abstract

Alang-alang (Imperata cylindrica L) is a plant that contains active compounds of flanoids, Saponins and tamnins which are used as antimicrobial compounds and have medicinal properties. Candida albicans and Malassezia furfur are the causes of skin health problems. This research aims to obtain endophytic fungal isolates from Alang-alang roots which have the potential to produce secondary metabolites as antifungals for candida albicans and Malassezia furfur. Repeated inoculation was carried out in PDB media, then extracted with ethly acetate. Phytochemical screening and antifungal testing were carried out on PDA media using the agar difussion method. The research results obtained 7 isolates, namely the Black isolate suspected of being Aspergillus niger, the White isolate suspected of being Cylindrocladium sp., the Bluish Green isolate suspected of being Aspergilius furnigatus, the Brown isolate suspected of being Aspergilius niger, the Light Green isolate suspected of being Aspergilius flavus the Dark Green isolate suspected of being Aspergiliud flavus, and the Cream isolate suspected to be Aspergillus terreus. Phytochemical screening showed that the Black isolate contained alkaloids and saponins, the White, Brown and Light Green isolates contained alkaolids, flanoids, the Cream isolate contained alkaloids, flanoids, saponins, tannins, and polyphenols. Based on these results, it was conclude that the antifungal activity test showed that the seven isolates of Alang-alang root endophytic fungi had fungicidal antifungal activity.
