Abstract
Providing dental and oral health education is an action to provide information and knowledge about dental and oral health, especially to elementary school children who have insufficient knowledge about how to brush their teeth properly and correctly. One alternative to providing education about dental and oral health is through dental phantom media and animated videos as one of the efforts to increase knowledge through dental and oral health education for elementary school children. This study aims to find out the comparison of knowledge about brushing teeth after counseling using dental phantom and animated videos. The research uses Quasi Experiment Design with pre and post test groups. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires and then the data was tested using the Mann Whitney test. The results of the statistical test showed that there was a difference in the knowledge of the two educational media. Animated videos have increased knowledge to provide information to elementary schools on how to brush their teeth compared to dental phantoms.
