Abstract
Myofascial trigger point syndrome can cause local pain, tenderness, tightness, stiffness, referred pain, and muscle weakness which usually occurs in the upper trapezius muscle. Several employees at the Sungguminasa Religious Court, Gowa Regency, it was found that on average they use computers for approximately 7-8 hours a day. These activities can result in hypokinetic (lack of movement) resulting in pain in the upper back muscles. The type of research used is an experimental research with the one group pretest – posttest design, aiming to determine the effectiveness of giving ischemic compression and muscle energy techniques to changes in pain in patients with Myofascial Trigger Point Syndrome Upper Trapezius Muscle. It was carried out at the Sungguminasa Religious Court Office with a sample of 21 people who fit the inclusion criteria. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon Test analysis for Ischemic Compression and Muscle Energy Technique interventions with a significance value of 0.000 or (p 0.05) which means that there is a significant effect in the form of changes in pain levels after administration of Ischemic Compression and Muscle Energy Technique on Myofascial Trigger Point Syndrome Upper Muscle Trapezius on the employees of the Sungguminasa Religious Court. The conclusion is that there is effectiveness in reducing pain in patients with myofascial trigger point syndrome of the upper trapezius muscle before and after being given Ischemic Compression and Muscle Energy Technique interventions.
